AUI VC CHARGES NIGERIAN YOUTHS

The Vice- Chancellor of Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, Lagos State, Professor Christopher Odetunde, has charged Nigerian youths to change the present narrative of Nigeria through hard work.

In his address titled: "The convolution of learning and morality resulting in total human formation" delivered at the 7th Matriculation Ceremony of the institution on Thursday, Professor  Odetunde, after a review of the current situation of things in the country stressed the need for Nigerian youths to "change the present narrative through hard work, improved moral standing... and finding a niche in spite of Nigeria being almost dead morally and not having a value adding education".

Quoting a former President of the Republic of  South Africa, Dr.Nelson Mandela, Professor Odetunde said "education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world", he, therefore, charged the students to be a change agent.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the matriculation guest lecturer, Professor Sola Fosudo described education as key to our total well-being and instrumental  to our future.

In a paper titled: "The Nigerian youths and education as key to brighter future", Professor Fosudo, amongst others described education as the tool that gives people knowledge and training,  a key to individual success, a key that unlocks the doors of opportunities and instrument of innovation and development. 

A total number  of 207 students matriculated at the ceremony.
