PDP Should Be Rid Of Moles To Win 2023 Poll, Says Jacob Idinye

Former Governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Edo State, High Chief Jacob Egietseme Idinye, on Tuesday, warned members and leadership of the party in Nigeria to beware of moles in the party fold, saying they were out to sabotage the chances of PDP winning the forthcoming Presidential election in 2023.

Chief Idinye gave this passionate charge while speaking with some selected journalists at Transcorp Hilton in the nation's capital, Abuja.

While cautioning party leaders and members against the antics of moles within the fold, he assured that victory was on the way for PDP in the 2023 presidential election.

“We shouldn't allow anyone to pull the wool over our eyes anymore, therefore the party needs to be extremely careful, the tide is on our side, PDP shall win the 2023 presidential poll, I will advise we should be careful of our enemies, and identity who are moles in the party,” he said.

Speaking further, Idinye noted that the success the party recorded in the last Edo State governorship election showed that INEC was determined to make the vote of the people count, assuring further that PDP would emerge victorious in the national election in 2023.

Condemining and repudiating the activities of those he referred to as moles within PDP, the High Chief said:

"We all saw what former Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe, said in 2018 that his decision to defect from PDP to Accord Party was because the party was hijacked by individuals who could not manage its affairs. This is an insult to the sensibilities of those of us who are loyal and committed members of the party." Idinye stated.

The astute politician who is also a fulfilled media practitioner further took a swipe at Okupe and Femi Fani-kayode.

"I am surprised that a character like Okupe would now come back to PDP and say he wants to be President, that is a big insult on our party and he should never be taken serious. Serious politicans aren't only seen on Facebook displaying posters and manifestos, they do the real politicking on the field with zeal, purpose and sincerity. My advice to the party leadership would be to expel him without further delay.

I said same thing about Femi Fani-kayode earlier this year that the man should be sanctioned and expelled for his incessant anti party activities, but nobody listened to me. Our party needs to be rid of moles who are only after their pecuniary gains and serially guilty of avarice"
