AKS Info Boss Comrade Ememobong kicks-off staff training in MOI & S

In keeping to his avowed commitment to accord priority to staff training at different levels and professional areas, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong has kicked-off the exercise with the training of the Production crew of the Ministry's Radio Magazine Programme, Update Akwa Ibom.

The measure which is part efforts to recalibrate the State Government Information sector for efficiency and maximum productivity, will sharpen the skills of the Production crew towards a rejig of the programme for optimal benefits. 

Addressing participants  undergoing the training earlier today, Thursday 20th August, the Information Boss said, in addition to the ongoing training on Programme Production and Presentation, the Ministry will undertake numerous other trainings for the different layers of the state Information sector on strategic information management techniques. 

Comrade Ini Ememobong stated that the essence of the training is to equip State Information Officers with international best practices in strategic communications and effective information management skills for the smooth interpretation of Governor Udom Emmanuel's Completion Agenda.

Describing the functions of Information Officers as critical to the overall success of Government programmes, the Information helmsman reiterated the need for regular training and re-training of staff to sharpen their skills for optimal performance.

The Commissioner who emphasized that staff training is very crucial for effective delivery of the mandate of the Ministry enjoined the trainees to take the exercise seriously to enable them apply the knowledge garnered in their  performance.

Speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Inyang Jameson, described the training as a laudable initiative  designed to benefit the participants. 

Mr. Inyang Jameson hinted that apart from the ongoing steps to rebrand and repackage the Ministry's weekly Radio Magazine Programme: Update Akwa Ibom, the Ministry is also working out modalities to have the programme and other new initiatives transmitted on television stations.

On his part, the Resource Person, a renowned On - Air Personality and media consultant, Mr. Imoh Ebong, expressed the optimism that the trainees would leverage on the exercise to improve on their outputs.

Responding on behalf of the trainees, the Head of the Production Team, Consolata Etuk, thanked the Commissioner for his innovative ideas and  determination to reposition the information sector of the state and pledged their readiness to deploy the skills learnt at the training to improve on the quality of the programme. 

The training which is organized in batches at the Ministry of Information Headquarters in keeping with the Covid-19 protocols features such topics as: Modern Technology on Radio/Tv Production, Programme Presentation and Sound Quality, Breathe Control, Diction and Word Pronunciation.
