Imo traders rise against local govt council boss for selling their Relief Fruit and Vegetable Market

*Hope Uzodinma, Imo State Gov

Trouble broke out in Imo state today, as traders blocked the main entrance to the Imo State Government House in protest of an alleged sale of their fruit and vegetable market place at relief Market, Owerri, by the interim management Chairman of Owerri Municipal Council, Mr. Ambrose Nkwodimma.

In defiance to the traders, the council chairman, rebuffed their protest, as he insisted that no amount of protest would stop the council from the planned development of the market place.

The traders said they were allocated the market by Rochas Okorocha's government and which they did the clearing with their own money. But now the council has ripped them off by selling the market. They called on the present Imo state governor to intervene.
