Hymnodia Wraps Up First Year Of Activities With Awesome Hymn Masterclass

..."I Am Very Happy" Says, Ekanem At End Of 2019 Hymn Masterclass

Finally, Hymnodia the initiative that nurtures talents in rendition of hymns which are inspirational, and revives the hymn culture in Nigeria and worship, as a critical element of what cohesive societies require, came to a wrap up of its first year of activities, with an awesome Masterclass that had participants from 18 states of the country.

The Masterclass was held ,at the Oranmiyan Hall of the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.

The Managing Director of Philosoville Limited, originators of Hymnodia, Mr Kufre Ekanem, beamed with excitement as he declared at the end of the Masterclass, "I am happy, we have had a good, successful end of Season 1. We now look forward to Season 2."

The roll call of the faculty members was a parade of the big names in the music terrain. Amongst them were:  

Sir Adekunle Oyedipe, KCW. Hymnodist. Educationist. Composer. Former Member, Governing Council, University of Port Harcourt. Writer and Composer of over 1500 hymns (nicknamed “Charles Wesley of Our Time”). Creator of “IT’S TIME TO CELEBRATE”, the official hymn for the 170th Anniversary of Methodist Church in Nigeria.

Most touching at the Masterclass was the arrival of Sir Adekunle Oyedipe who at almost 82, has written over 1500 hymns. He came to the Hymn Masterclass to fulfil his promise despite the death of his son just a few days earlier.
