It was another emotional moment as the 65th flight from Libya bringing back Nigerians who are stranded in that country, was being expected in Lagos few days ago.
The anticipated 65th chartered flight, called for a World Press Conference, to share with the world, the work so far done, and more importantly to access the entire operations and its general benefits since the first flight landed from Libya.
Ofcourse, kudos goes to all the bodies that has been involved in this rescue mission since its inception. Those present at the World Press Conference included: The Southwest Zonal Director of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and IDPs (NCFRMI), Ketil Karlsen, Head of the EU Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS Ambassador, Frantz Celestine, IOM Nigeria Chief of Mission, Elini Zerzelidou, International Aid/Cooperation Officer Migration, Drugs and Organised Crime, Lagos Zonal Commander, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, and the Lagos Territorial Commander, National Emergency Management Agency.
The awaited 65th chartered flight from Libya finally landed Lagos at 7:45pm on the 3rd of April, 2019, and the emotions poured freely as young Nigerians arrived home, sweet home, after a tumultuous sojourn abroad.
A total of 120 Nigerians, were returned from Libya aboard this particular chartered flight, under the EU-IOM joint initiative. The arrival of the 65th chartered flight also brought the figures of the total number of returnees to 12,832 since April 2017.

The reception exercise, which was coordinated by the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons and Facilitated by IOM under the EU/IOM Return and Reintegration initiative,successfully received and profiled the returnees.
As usual, on ground also, were officers from NAPTIP and other partners agencies.
