AMAECHI to address Inland waterways stakeholders at NIWA ICE 2017

Nigeria's Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi will on Tuesday 25, July, engage stakeholders in a discuss on the Nigerian coastal and waterways at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Speaking to newsmen yesterday, Engr. Muazu Sambo the Area Manager of NIWA Lagos, said, “The event will be the 2nd International Conference And Exhibition, and will be put together, by the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).”

NIWA ICE 2017 as the event is tagged will be an event that has a five-part programme in a full day stretch. The first part, which will start with registration, will lead into the opening ceremonies and the conference main speeches being:  ‘Imperatives for enhancing navigation and inland port operations on Nigerian waterways to be delivered,’ by Mr. Srda Ljesevic an expert from Sabia, while the second lecture will be: ‘Deriving the benefits of investments in coastal and inland shipping operations on Nigeria’s waterways.’

Sambo stated further that the second part of the event will be a
launching of a book, with a foreword by Boss Mustapha, the Managing Director of NIWA.

The third part, the unveiling of an equipment that NIWA has just purchased from USA, to clean the waterways, the fourth part, an exhibition with 12 booths and 2 open stands at the venue, for maritime organisations and others that will be showcasing their products and services to attract investors, and finally, the day will be wrapped up with a Gala dinner, where stakeholders and high performers in the maritime industry will be rewarded
