Breaking news! Taraba Govt Declares 4 Tourism Zones For Heritage And Eco tourism Development

The Executive Governor of Taraba State, H.E Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas shows Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye and others, the different tourism zones

The Taraba State Ministry of Heritage and Eco tourism has announced its 
Identification and declaration of 4 tourism zones for immediate development by the state government.

This being one of the fallout of the recent visit to the state by Tourism icon, Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye, founder of La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort in Lagos and other locations across Africa and the Caribbean.

While rolling out this information to Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye, the Honourable Commissioner in the State's Ministry of Heritage and Eco tourism, Rev. Titus Joseph Nagombe, stated that, "in alignment with our collective visions to expand the frontiers of tourism and cultural heritage development, I am pleased to inform you that, four (4) prime tourist sites have been identified and officially declared of international tourism zones in Taraba state. These locations have been selected based on their historical, ecological and economic potential to attract both local and international visitors."
According to the Commissioner, the identified sites are:

Nwonyo Lake Cultural Resort (Ibi LGA)
A renowned site for hosting the famous Nwonye fishing festival, this site is a cultural and economic asset with immense potential for eco tourism, water based recreation facilities and cultural exhibitions.

Gashamka Gumti Recreational resort (Gashamka LGA)
This is Nigeria's National park and home to the endangered Cross river gorillas, this site offers an unmatched biodiversity, eco tourism opportunities and a unique conservation tourism experience 

Donga River Basin Forest Eco Resort (Kurmi LGA)
A pristine natural reserve featuring dense forest, a rich variety of wildlife and a river based attractions ideal for a sustainable eco tourism development.

Mambilla Plateau (Sardauna LGA)
A stunning Highland region with cool temperatures, picturesque landscapes and cultural richness, making it an exceptional destination for eco tourism, adventure tourism and cultural tourism.
Rev. Titus Joseph Nagombe mentioned further, that the official designations of these sites as international tourism zones presents a significant opportunity to position the region as a premier tourism destination while fostering economic growth, cultural preservation, and environmental sustainability.

He called for the tourism icon's collaboration with the vision of the state government as he added, "We believe that with your expertise and pioneering contributions to tourism industry, a collaboration in this, will endevour and yield remarkable results.
