The Overseas Friends of the Bharatiya Janata Party (OFBJP), India Support Group in Nigeria, has felicitated with the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Damodar Modi, on his 71st birthday.

President, OFBJP Nigeria chapter, Sanjay Srivastava, in his congratulatory message to Modi, made available to journalists at the weekend, said: “True to traditions, the PM is committed to innovations. The leader of the masses, the beat of a billion hearts. Happy birthday.

“On his birthday, let us just come together and wish him good health.”

Describing PM Modi as “the son of this land and the example for the entire world,” the OFBJP president said Modi is “The one who strives for the nation. A very Happy Birthday to the one man who inspires all - Narendra Modi  #HappyBdayModiji.”

The OFBJP president, while commending the PM over his remarkable achievements in India, said: “In the history of our nation, we have never witnessed a leader who answers terrorists the way PM Modi does.”

He said that Modi has ensured that “Surgical strikes and air strikes have strengthened India’s global image,” adding that PM Modi has showed the way to empower women in the country in the area of “freeing Muslim women from the shackles of Triple Talaq.”

According to Srivastava, India’s youth have been transformed since 2014, adding that “under the inspired leadership of PM Modi, over 1.25 youths have been skilled under various programmes across the nation.”

Listing education as a major pillar of Modi’s government, Srivastava said that between 2014-2020, more than 300 new universities have been opened up to strengthen the future of Indian youths.

He added that under PM Modi’s leadership, “Swachh Bharat Mission has brought a revolution in the entire country, showing the road towards cleanliness.”

Over six lakh villages have been made open-defecation free in just seven years across the nation, he said.

Being a leader who loves to take challenges head on, the OFBJP president said that PM Modi launched the Jal Jeevan Mission to ensure clean drinking water for every Indian household, adding that since its inauguration on August 15, 2019, over 4.92 crore houses have been connected with tap water.

Defeating smoke from coking coal has been a long-standing challenge for India, Srivastava noted, adding that since 2014, over 8.16 crore gas connections have been provided for free under Ujjwala Yojana to facilitate cooking for Indian women.

According to him, the nation has been brightened up with Ujala Yojana with “over 36.78 crore bulbs distributed under the mission, transforming the night landscape across the nation.”

Lauding Modi for fulfilling dreams of a house for every Indian, the OFBJP president noted that “under the leadership of PM Modi, over 1.13 crore houses have been sanctioned under PM Awas Yojana (Urban) so far. The smiles brought to the faces of poor Indians are incomparable.”

“Nearly two crore houses have been sanctioned by the Modi government to bring smiles to the faces of India’s villagers, thereby strengthening rural India,” Srivastava said.

According to him, the world’s largest financial inclusion plan has led to unparalleled benefits for India’s masses as over 43 crore Indians have benefited from several schemes via DBT directly into their Jan Dhan accounts, adding that it also helped provide support to the needy during COVID-19 pandemic.

Srivastava said that with a mission to improve farmers’ social security and income, PM Modi has brought a revolution in the agro sector as over 21.42 lakh farmers have registered under PM KISAN Mandhan Yojana so far.

On Modi’s achievements in the health sector, the OFBJP noted that the PM has created wealth through safeguarding lives of millions of needy Indians with Ayushman Bharat.

Already, OFBJP president noted, over 2.11 crore people from economically weaker sections have benefited from the scheme.

He stated that PM Modi is leading the way in the fight against Coronavirus, with the nation running the world’s largest vaccination drive.

He added that India has already administered nearly 77 crore vaccine doses, already way ahead in terms of several global superpowers.

The OFBJP president said that rural connectivity was one of India’s major concerns before 2014,

adding that "Since PM Modi’s arrival, over 6.73 lakh kms of roads have been built under PM Gram Sadak Yojana pan-India, strengthening rural India’s economy as well."
He said that India’s network of highways is connecting every major city across states, making travel across the nation smarter and seamless.

To put this into perspective, 13,327 kms of highways have been constructed in 2020-21, Srivastava added.
