A new members of Executives has been inaugurated to pilot the affairs of the Eket Chapter of the Eket Senatorial District Women's Forum (ESDWF). The inauguration took place today, Monday, 27th September, 2021 at Eket Council hall in Eket.
Welcoming the women to the event, the wife of the Eket Council Chairman who was represented by the wife of the Paramount Ruler of Eket, Obongawan Mandu E C D Abia, thanked Mrs Martha Emmanuel for her benevolence towards the women of Eket Senatorial District. She pledged the women's resolve to maintain the existing peace that was brought to Akwa Ibom State by the Udom Emmanuel Administration.
The President General of ESDWF, Mrs Idara Ephraim Akpan thanked the women for their steadfastness and loyalty. She appreciated the Governor's wife for her efforts in ensuring women inclusion in leadership positions in Akwa Ibom State, and prayed God to bless the Governor, Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel and wife, Martha Emmanuel. Mrs. Akpan paid glowing tributes to Eket Council Chairman, Mr Akaninyene Tommy for donating a land to facilitate the building of the Dr Martha Udom Women Development & Skills Acquisition Centre, even as she showered God's blessings upon the Chairman.
On his part, the Chairman of Eket Local Government Council, Mr Akaninyene Tommy extoled the Governor's wife for all her kind gestures on the women of Akwa Ibom State, especially the women of Eket Senatorial District and Eket LGA. He appreciated Mrs. Emmanuel for immensely touching lives through her FEYReP project. He promised to lead the people of Eket enmasse, to support the completion agenda of His Excellency, Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel. The Eket council boss also donated for the women's empowerment.
In their separate goodwill messages, the Vice President of ESDWF, Mrs Bright Archibong, Mrs. Nelly Ukpong, and other stakeholders, eulogized Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel for her motherly disposition towards the women, children and the less privileged through her FEYReP project. They pledged their unalloyed supports to Governor Udom Emmanuel and wife, Dr Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel towards the realization of the Completion Agenda.
The event featured the unveiling of the Forum's Constitution, and a welcome song by the women. Highpoint of the event was the empowerment of the women.
The newly inaugurated executive members are: Martina Nsikan John - President, Charity Thompson - Vice President, Glory Sabbath - Secretary, Mfon Victor Ntuk - Assistant Secretary, Selina Friday - Financial Secretary, Atim Dan - Treasurer, Emem Atang - Auditor, Barr. Gladys Ekaette, Unyime Henry - Director Mobilization, Christiana Tom, Imobong Daniel - Welfare and Glory Victor Ubokudom - Provost.
