NUJ rewards ace photo journalist King Solomon Ekhaiyeme with award



Celebrity Photo Journalist King Solomon Ekhaiyeme has bagged an award from the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Abuja. 


Ekhaiyeme who is with Ovation Media Group and a Photo Editor at Paul Ukpabio's Blog, received the award at a colourful ceremony few days.



Titled, the Touch Bearers of Press Freedom Awards, King Solomon was awarded this because of the incident that occurred to him at Ikeja under bridge last year November 2020, where he was chased with a cutlass and gun by armed robbers and was forced to escape with a motorcycle.



Some of the guests at the event which was held at Sheraton Hotel Abuja were: Rt Hon. Femi Hakeem Gbajabiamila (The speaker House of Representatives) who was represented by Hon. Peter Akpatason and His Excellency Senator Douye Diri who was ably represented by the chairman of the event, Senator Barau I Jibrin.


The Pess Freedom Platform Awards was also given to Nigeria info FM 95.1 and Arise News.


Corporate Friend of the Media Award was given to Access Bank and Central Bank of Nigeria.


The Defender of the Press Freedom Awards was given to Senator Barau I JIbrin and Dr Samson Agada Omale and James Ume publisher of the Whittier.NG.


Life time Achievement Award was given to Yakubu Ibn Mohammed Director General Nigeria Television Authority and Tony Akiotu Group managing director DAAR Communications PLC
