It's official, Ovation Carol and Awards is cancelled for this year

The annual Ovation Carol and Awards have been cancelled for this year 2020! No thanks to the atmosphere in the country and the risk factor of covid-19.

According to a statement by Mr Michael Effiong, the Editor of Ovation International magazine, organizers of the event, 

"we had to cancel the event this year in order to prevent people from being exposed to the risk of contacting the corona virus which is said to be on its second wave."

The cancellation may also not be far fetched from the advice given to Nigerians abroad and other intending visitors to the country, to stay away this Christmas season to forestall the further spread of the covid-19 pandemic.

The annual Ovation Carol and Awards is one of the few seasonal events that lights up the Xmas mood in Lagos. But this year, society folks have to sit at home and make do with home fun.

Year 2020 will definitely go down in history as the year when the world changed in many ways. Some have called it the year of Zoom meetings and others have called it the year of covid-19 and some others know it as the year of #EndSARS.

For society lovers and party folks the fun has drastically reduced. And many are asking, 'when are we going to have our lives back?'
