Empowerment galore as AKS Info Boss donates sewing machine, generating sets to youths



It was another round of happiness in Ministry of Information and Strategy, earlier today, Thursday, December 4, as the Commissioner, Comrade Ini Ememobong donated a Sumec Fireman generating set and a Butterfly electric sewing machine to youths, for their empowerment and development good.


The exercise which has become a recurrent life touching practise of the State Information Boss, is part of his empowerment Programmes, to invent a better life for the youths of the state, in keying into the Dakkada philosophy of Governor Udom Emmanuel.


Presenting the Sewing machine to Maria Ekong, working at No 199 Ikot Ekpene Road, Uyo and the generating set to Enefiok Johnson, who owns a laundry outfit at Ikot Ntuen, Off Ekpri Nsukara, Comrade Ini Ememobong expressed the hope that, the facilities and equipment will be judiciously utilized for their benefits and by extension their families and neighbours.


The Information Boss who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Inyang Jameson said youth empowerment is a measure by government to gainfully employ the youths and keep them off social vices and expressed with optimism that, in no distant time, there will be a positive ripple effect as the two people empowered will become employer of labour.

Mr. Inyang Jameson said, as a man with a large heart, Comrade Ini Ememobong has been in the practise of empowering the youths, the less privileged and down trodden members of the society in his personal capacity and also through his NGO, "Ini Ememobong Foundation" and urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the kind gesture of the Information Boss by making good use of the facilities to become self reliant and self sufficient.


Responding on behalf of the two beneficiaries, Enefiok Johnson said, they were inspired to reach out to the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong for help because of his antecedent and penchant for assisting the youths.

He expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for the donations to them and pledged to judiciously utilize the equipment to better their lot.

Present at the occasion were: the Director of Public Relations, Mrs. Grace Akpan, the Director of Administration, Mrs. Tiuba Nduonofit⁩, the Director of Strategy, Mr. Joseph Etem and the Assistant Director in-charge of Ikot Ekpene Zonal Office, Mr. Aniekan Ukpong.
