Probity and equity are Udom's strategic governance approach - Ememobong, AKSG Info Boss

By: Lawrence Ekong

Governor Udom Emmanuel is building Akwa Ibom through a strategic governance approach of probity and equatable distribution of resources, devoid of political sentiments and petty interests.

The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong stated this earlier today in Uyo, while fielding questions on a special edition of Inspiration 105.9 FM Radio Programme - Talk Radio.

Comrade Ini Ememobong said, Governor, Udom Emmanuel is committed to the building of the state beyond politics and pettiness, where peace, love and unity would reign even after the present administration, with enduring infrastructure for the benefit of the entire citizenry.

He emphasized that the infrastructural renaissance that is currently being witnessed in the state was as a result of  the deliberate steps taken by Governor Emmanuel to make Akwa Ibom a preferred destination for investors, pointed out that the achievements were made possible through the Governor's unparalleled and superior performance.

The State Spokesman said that since his inauguration in 2015, the Governor has remained consistent in his efforts to improve the fortunes of the state through his industrialization-drive, sound agricultural policies and massive roads network.

The Info Boss commended Mr. Emmanuel for his remarkable strides in the aviation sector especially the floating of  Ibom Airline as well as the ongoing facility expansion at the Victor Attah International Airport.

Other laudable attainments of the Governor according to the Information helmsman include: overhauling of power infrastructure in the state, particularly the linking of the Ibom Hotel & Golf Resort, the Ibom Tropicana Entertainment Center and the Government House to the national grid expressing the optimism that with the humongous investment made in the power sector, the target of making power available for every household in the state by 2021, would be realized.

Stressing that the Emmanuel's administration was doing everything possible to keep attracting international investors to the state through the establishment of critical infrastructures such as the Dakkada Towers, quality road and improved security network, Comrade Ememobong added that  the structures would further boost industrialization and stimulate economic growth in the state.

The Information Boss stated that Governor Emmanuel was ready to partner well meaning individuals and organizations interested in investing in the Akwa Ibom Project regardless of their political affiliation or differences assuring that Governor Emmanuel will not be distracted in his quest to bequeath a better and stronger economy to his successor at the end of his adminstration.

Describing Governor Emmanuel as a focused and prudent manager of human and material resources, the state Information helmsman remarked that the Governor was redefining governance and making history even amidst the dwindling resources.

He alluded that the Emmanuel's administration would continue to give premium to citizens' welfare and  infrastructural development, hinting that the state government was ready for the groundbreaking  ceremony of the Ibom Deep Seaport as soon as the Federal Government gives the final approval which is in its last stages.

While calling on all stakeholders to join hands with the Governor in order to make the Ibom Deep Sea Port project a reality, Comrade Ini Ememobong beckoned on all Akwa Ibom people in high positions  to contribute their quota to the development of the state by facilitating Corporate Social Responsibilities, CSR, from corporate organisations and International Oil Companies, IOCs, especially the ones operating within the state.

Speaking on the relocation of IOCs headquarters to the state, the commissioner stressed,  '' We have a better facility that can now house them here in the state, so accommodation is no longer an excuse; we want the Federal Government projects here, we want companies here, we want private conglomerates here and we don't care who owns them or wants to take credit for their coming here or their political parties, we will partner them as long as it would be of benefit to the state and our citizens because when they come, local content will apply and our people will get more jobs'' .

Comrade Ememobong used the avenue to provide insight into the debts owed the state by the Federal Government especially monies spent on the repairs of federal roads in the state as well as arrears from previous incorrect calculations in the payment of the 13% oil revenue derivation to the state by the Federal Allocation Account Committee ( FAAC ). He argued that the demand by the Akwa Ibom State Government for reimbursement was legitimate and would also leave the state with more funds for the execution of capital projects.

He congratulated the state Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the state and called on all stakeholders to support the Governor in building an Akwa Ibom of our dream.
