HOS extols Info Boss Ememobong for bringing on board his predecessors




The Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien has applauded the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong for embracing his predecessors and bringing them on board governance.


Elder Effiong Essien gave the commendation Wednesday 28th October while declaring open a Capacity Development Seminar for staff of the Ministry of Information and Strategy held at Watbridge hotels in Uyo, the State capital.

The Head of Civil Service commended Comrade Ini Ememobong for extending his hands of fellowship to former Commissioners of Information, his predecessors in line, towards drawing from their wealth of experience in the leadership processes of the Ministry.



While describing the gesture as unprecedent, Elder Effiong Essien expressed the hope that other Commissioners in the different MDAs would emulate the laudable initiative of the State Information helmsman.

The Head of Civil Service, intimated that about 319 Civil Servants drawn from critical Ministries, Departments and Agencies, including Permanent Secretaries, have been exposed to similar trainings in recent times and expressed appreciation to Comrade Ememobong for embarking on the exercise.


He explained that the Seminar was in demonstration of Governor Udom Emmanuel's commitment towards putting in place a "highly knowledgeable, performance-driven, reformed and result- oriented public service needed to fast-track the actualization of the Completion Agenda" of the State Administration.

While urging participants to avail themselves of the opportunity to improve their stock of knowledge and skills, the Head of Civil Service tasked them to replicate their training experiences in their various offices to justify the huge investment In such trainings.


He particularly expressed admiration for the State Information helmsman, for his creativity in the Ministry and commended him for putting up such a seminar barely three months of assuming duty as a Commissioner in the establishment.

Setting the tone for the event, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, said the Seminar aims at sharpening the skills of workers adding that seasoned Resource Persons have been invited to impart requisite knowledge to the participants.

Comrade Ememobong who gave an overview of the seminar, charged the staff to utilize the opportunity to 'up their game' in delivering their mandate as Government Information Managers and encouraged them to use the breakout sessions to sharpen their skills in choice areas in order to deliver specialised services in the course of their duties.

The Information Boss used the occasion to present commemorative Plaques to his predecessors in line in recognition of their humongous contributions to the development of the Ministry and the state.
