The Honourable Commissioner for Environment and
Petroleum Resources, Sir Charles Udoh has disclosed that the economic policy of
Governor Udom Emmanuel's administration in building a new generation of
entrepreneurs is receiving a boost with the springing up of new businesses in
the state.
The state Commissioner made this known at the official
opening of SG Petroleum in Uyo.
He stated that opening of the business in Uyo is the
fulfilement of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s vision of building a generation of
entrepreneurs whereby employment will be provided to the populace.
Sir Charles Udoh expressed belief that SG Petroleum
will witness a massive boost in their business as the present administration of
Governor Udom Emmnuels has provided favourable environment for businesses to
thrive in the state which he said is evident in setting up of more businesses
in the state.
The Commissioner thanked the Management for
kick-starting the business in Uyo and prayed God for more returns on investment
and future expansion while tasking the management and staff to be
transparent in order to gain more patronage from customers.
The Managing Director of SG Petroleum Mr. Aniedi
Inyang in his address, pointed that the setting up of SG Petroleum was borne
out of the desire to own a business which he can be remembered for and
provide employment opportunities to the teeming youth in the state.
He promised that the company will strive to operate
with strict business ethics that will endear them to customers.
He also revealed that the company has a staff strength
of fifty eught employees, which he noted is his own quota of keying into the
industrialization and entrepreneurial drive of His Excellency, Governor
Udom Emmanuel.
Highpoint of the event was the official cutting of tape
to open the SG petroleum fuel station and opening of a branch of
Santrust Bank in the Company premises at Idoro road by the Commissioner for
Environment and Petroleum Resources.
Present at the occasion were the Managing Director of
the Company, Mr. Aniedi Inyang and Wife Mrs. Ekaete Aniedi, Peoples Democratic
Party Chapter Chairman of Uyo , Businessman, Engr. Nse Ekanem(Abai Uyo), Former
Speaker of Uyo Legislative Council, Mr. Tony Asikpo, elders , Representative of
Suntrust Bank, Management and Staff of the company among other dignitaries.
