Revealed: All About The Ibom Blue Sea Science And Technology Park

Few days ago, Justina Isaac, an Information Officer 11 in the Ministry of Information and Strategy headquarters, Uyo, led a team of journalists and others on The Get It Right campaign on Government Policies, Programmes and Projects, to the Ibom Blue Sea Science and Technology Park. 

The trip was geared at keeping the people in speed with the vision of Governor Udom Emmanuel in embarking on this highbrow project in the Science and Technology sector of the state, was very revealing. And below are the revelations.

✔️ The Ibom Blue Sea Science and Technology Park project is a metamorphosis of the Akwa Ibom Science Park project. 

✔️ The then Akwa Ibom science park was conceived 14 years ago, precisely in 2006, during the administration of Governor, Obong Victor Attah. 

✔️ Governor Udom Emmanuel launched the construction of the Ibom Blue Sea Technology Park with a flag off ceremony on Thursday, 19th December, 2019.

✔️ The Blue Sea Technology park is located along Uyo village road in Uyo LGA of the State. 

✔️ The name of the Technology Park is derived from the construction company, CHINA BLUE SEA INTERNATIONAL HOLDINGS, which is collaborating with the state government for the setting-up of the Technology park.

✔️ The Blue Sea Technology Park is to serve as an incubation centre and technology hub for creative youths of the State to be mentored on different vocational areas pertaining to Technological innovations and soft ware development. 

✔️ The Park will boost the Governor Udom Emmanuel industrialization-drive as well as stimulate small and medium scale entrepreneurial ventures in technology. 

✔️ Of added advantage is that the Ibom Blue Sea Technology will redefine the curriculum of schools in the State towards technology and vocational training. 

✔️ Components of the Ibom Blue Sea Technology Park include:
        ☑️ University of technology
        ☑️ Vocational center
        ☑️ Five star hotel
        ☑️ Hospital
        ☑️ High-tech building material plant
        ☑️ power plant.

✔️ The  Ibom Blue Sea park which is the first of its kind in Africa will be another life transforming project of Governor Udom Emmanuel for the people of state with its inherent value chain opportunities. 

✔️ The project will create numerous employment opportunities for the people of the state particularly the youths, create wealth and alleviate poverty amongst the people. 

✔️ It will also serve as a a training and research centre for students and concerned youths of the State in various areas of ICT.
