Convention committee releases authentic YAN election results for election held on 24th and 25th July 2020


The Results of the Election into the 3rd Republic of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria has just been concluded.

The National Convention Committee had earlier said the results will be released on 26th July, 2020 due to sorting and collation.


We are pleased to announce that with the help of technology, the sorting and collation was done in minutes.

The Position for the office of the Speaker was keenly contested by three State Ambassador who had decided to step down as at Thursday 23rd July, 2020. This paved way for a single contestant.

For the Office of the Speaker.

Amb. Shuaibu Sani (Nasarawa State) scored 541 Votes.

For the Office of the Deputy Speaker,

Amb. Ezenwata Albert (Enugu State) scored 294 votes.

Amb. Sotonye Ekine (Rivers State) scored 248 votes.

For the Office of the Majority Leader,

Amb. Samuel Adeyelu scored 442 votes.

For the Office of the Deputy Majority Leader,

Amb. Musbau Esinrogunjo scored 442 votes.

For the Office of the Chief Whip,

Amb. Sanusi Sarki (Sokoto State) scored 400 votes

Amb. Abubakar Ibn Usman (Yobe State) scored 242 votes.

For the Office of the Deputy Chief Whip

Amb. King C. King (Imo State) scored 342 votes

For the Office of the Minority Leader,

Amb. Princess Nkem (Ebonyi State) scored 340 votes.

For the Office of the Deputy Minority Leader,

Amb. Mole Istifanus (Gombe State) scored 342 votes.

The Highest Votes are hereby declared Winners of the Election and are Returned Elected into the above positions.

On behalf of the National Convention Committee, I want to thank the Outgoing Speaker of the Assembly Rt. Hon. Godstime Samuel for having faith in the National Convention Committee to deliver on its mandate.

We also thank the newly elected Ambassadors for showing passion and commitment to ensuring the Election is a Success.

I also want to Thank my Committee Members for their tireless efforts even amongst various obstacles.

Finally, I want to be the first to Congratulate the New Speaker and the Principal Officers and encourage them to do their best and take the 3rd Republic of Youth Assembly of Nigeria to a higher pedestal.

We shall communicate through our spoke person on the schedule date for the collection of Certificate Return.
