Grief followed the sudden death of Inspector Ali Gomina, one of the police escort riders on the Vice President's convoy today in Abuja.
Inspector Ali Gomina, who is said to have been 45 in age, was involved in a road accident while on official duty.
According to a statement signed by Laolu Akande,
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity in the Office of the Vice President, the accident occurred on the road to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
We hear that the incident saddened the Vice President, who became very disturbed and aborted his trip.
"The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo described Gomina, as a diligent, hardworking and serious-minded officer who will be greatly missed by the team."
He is survived by his wife, children and relatives.
