Libya gladly returned another set of Nigerians
who have been illegally residing in that country. The recent batch arrived via a chartered
flight from that country.
On hand to receive the deported
Nigerians was the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally
Displaced Persons, the coordinating agency for Migration Management and other
related issues in Nigeria and facilitated by the International Organization for
Migration (IOM) under the EU/IOM Return and Reintegration initiative.
During the special reception to receive them, the returnees expressed satisfaction with the reception accorded them and particularly the process they were made to go through to integrate them back into the country. They equally expressed their gratitude to the government and the IOM for their timely intervention.
The returnees were given a stipend
made available by the European Union and other donors, and taken to a hotel to
spend the night, after which they were to be transported to their various
destinations.
.
On ground also at the reception, were
officers from NAPTIP and other partner agencies.
