LAGOS INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR TAKES OFF WITH BIG SALES AND FUNFAIR

Dignitaries declare the fair open

The Lagos International Trade Fair is here again at the Nation’s Number One Events and Tourists Centre- Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos.

According to the Chairman of the LCCI Trade Promotion Board, Mr Sola Oyetayo,  this year’s (2017) edition has over 1000 exhibitors from 15 countries of the world.

The Fair which was declared officially opened on Friday 3rd November by the Minister  for Industry Trade and Investment Dr Okechukwu Enelamah after a colourful opening ceremony at the exquisite TBS Banquet Hall, had in attendance the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Mrs Oluranti Adebule , The President of LCCI, Chief Dr Mrs Nike Akande  CON,  Mr Muda Yusuf (DG LCCI), Iyalode Alaba Lawson, MFR, FIoD, JP (National President, NACCIMA), Otunba Olu Adenodi (MD/CEO BHS International Limited Concessionaires of the TBS, Lagos), White Capped Chiefs and many high profile business men and women from across the globe.

The consistent use of the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry through the last 5 years instead of having it at the International Trade Fair Complex confirms that Messrs BHS International Limited is doing a good job of TBS Concession by keeping it in a functional state fit for such a large Trade Fair which attracts an average of about 2million people daily.

This confirms that unlike other concessions by the Federal Government, the TBS Concession is actually achieving its purpose though not maximally for now.  With the recent approval of the TBS Redevelopment Plans, BHS International Limited has further proved its capability to execute its mission at the TBS.

It has therefore become pertinent to call on BPE and other related Federal Government Agencies who supervise the TBS Concession to deploy all that is required to remove hurdles that have tried to frustrate the BHS vision to Turn the TBS into a City Centre and Destination of Choice and a One Stop Tourist Centre to better position the place for future trade fairs of even bigger size/magnitude.
