JUNE 12: Late MKO Abiola's spirit needs to be appeased to ward away calamity from aso rock

By Paul Ukpabio

The last of 'June 12' has definitely not been heard. That is because, after much lectures, symposia, film production, rallies and so on has been done on 'June 12,' the head of the Abiola family has cried out that a spiritual angle of the whole June 12 saga, has been left un-touched.

Alhaji Muritala Abiola the current head of the Abiola family that hails from Abeokuta spoke few days before today's celebration that aso rock the seat of Nigeria's power, must appease the spirit of Late MKO Abiola before all the spiritual calamities currently taking place there and around the country, can be waded off.

Speaking from his home in Agbado area of Ogun State on the border with Lagos, Chief Muritala Abiola declared that, "there is a spiritual rite that is supposed to be done which the family has raised, but has been ignored. MKO Abiola was a spiritual child. His mother had children before him who did not stay, until something spiritual was done. So when he came, he stayed. So he is a spiritual child and there is a sacrifice that is supposed to be done.

"Also, the father of MKO (Alhaji Salawu Adenekan Abiola) has died for about 40 years now, even MKO himself, before he died did not even put N2 in a plate before an Alaafa (muslim cleric/clerics) to pray for him. But MKO Abiola died, and you pray for him every year. The father is annoyed, he needs to be appeased. I told the government. We told them but received no reply and now the spiritual problem in aso rock is reverberating.”

Alhaji Muritala Abiola reiterated that something needs to be done fast to appease the spirit of Late MKO Abiola the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 Presidential election, and the spirit of his late father. That a lot of the problems the country is going through, could be from not doing this singular act.
