Are
you an agripreneur? If yes, your next call should be to the Edo State Ministry
of Agriculture where officials are daily screening applicants who intend to
participate in the government’s ongoing agripreneural initiative.
Report
says officials of the Ministry of Agriculture have been playing host to
interested people, who are being screened to participate in the next batch.
A
statement from the Office of the Chief Press Secretary to the governor
indicates that, the state government was determined to make sure food supply
was reliable and safe, hence its initiative to encourage and engage citizens in
entrepreneurship through agribusiness.
“The
idea is to engage and feed the lower class and the hoi polloi as well as the
rapidly growing middle class to make them millionaires. Governor Godwin
Obaseki’s talk on this initiative has been encouraging to peasant and middle
class farmers”, his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. John Mayaki said.
However,
a scheme has also been put in place to eliminate instances of fraudulent applications.
