Come September 18th and 19th, the cross border road between Nigeria and Ghana, will be lit by the 1st Ever Cross Border Carnival Procession put together by MOTHERLAND BECKONS IPADA INITIATIVES in conjunction with FESTAC 2025.
The colourful 1ST EVER CROSS BORDER CARNIVAL PROCESSION route is planned with a take off point in Lagos, going through Cotonou (Benin Republic) – Lome (Togo) and (Ghana), with a big welcome party and full scale celebration of Africa's biggest music party featuring African cultural arts and traditional music from different African countries, in Ghana's capital city of Accra.

The procession is tagged “Carnival for The Unity of African People," it is obvious that this year 2025 celebration of FESTAC will go down in history as one of the very best ever hosted, with a paceseting 1st Ever Cross Border Carnival Procession.
"It is indeed going to be an epoch making event, and everyone is invited," says the organisers. However, while the grand celebration of FESTAC itself in Accra, scheduled to take place from September 21st to September 27th is opened to everyone, the invitation for the first-ever cross-border carnival tourism expedition, taking off from Lagos on September 18th to Accra, is extended only to people between the ages of 18 to 70.
It is definitely going to be the biggest road show, cultural festival with a cross-border carnival that will elucidate trans border interactions, inter cultural exchange and celebration of life.
It is time to experiment and experience Africa like never before! Come dance to African beats and music. Come see what makes Africa tick and different, as the vibrant carnival train moves from one coastal Western African country to another in grand style with Flatbed trucks, Comfortable air-conditioned buses, Live drumming, dancing, and colorful costumes along with good Music, food, and fun at every rest areas.
The rest areas along the way will feature music, food, and great vibes. Musicians, dancers, and tourists from across Africa can join the carnival trains at the different rest areas in Cotonou, Lome or Accra.
The fun will get even merrier, as B.A.D Gang (Bikers with Attitude and Determination), the largest Biking club in Africa, are going to be part of this grand, colourful 1ST EVER CROSS BORDER CARNIVAL PROCESSION, aimed to unite Africa, through tourism and creative arts. Coming also are, Ace Bikers, Metallic Bullridez, Alimosho Biking club and Loud Night Biking club.
Expect a big colourful show across the West African border this September!

And for those who don't know it, FESTAC stands for the Festival of Black and African Arts and Culture, a major international festival celebrating African culture and heritage.
It was initially held in Dakar, Senegal, in 1966, and then expanded to include FESTAC '77 in Lagos, Nigeria.
FESTAC '77, was a large-scale event showcasing diverse African arts, music, literature, and other cultural expressions. The festival's success led to the creation of the Nigerian National Council of Arts and Culture, Festac Village, and the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos. It has a FESTAPan-African Focus. The festival showcases a wide range of African arts, including music, dance, theater, literature, and visual arts as historical significance.
