Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, joined in celebrating with the Super Eagles following their triumph over South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in the semi-final of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 held in Cote d’Ivoire.
Prior to the match, Vice President Kashim Shettima was dispatched by President Bola Tinubu to uplift the morale of the players and provide support.
Following Nigeria’s victory, the delighted Vice President visited the Super Eagles in the dressing room to share in their joy and congratulate them on their success.
Both goals during regular time were scored from penalties, with Nigeria’s captain William Troost-Ekong finding the net in the 67th minute, and Teboho Mokoena equalizing with a spot-kick in the 90th minute.
Nigeria are set to face hosts Ivory Coast in the final on Sunday.
