The entire Nigerian fashion industry along with friends from home and abroad will all stand up today Thursday March 2, 2023, to celebrate one of their own, Mrs Funmi Ajila-Ladipo, as she turns 60 in stylish glamour!
Funmi Ajila-Ladipo's face has many times in the past served as a reference point for the entire fashion industry in Nigeria, as she has served the industry in various human resource capacities, which has endeared her specially to many fashion designers/practitioners and fashion connoisseurs in and outside Nigeria.
A two-term past President of the Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN), CEO of Regalia By Fal, Funmi Ajila as she is also fondly known, may not have pioneered the Nigerian fashion industry, a role the society heavyweights like Shade Thomas Fahn, labanella -Sis Abbah folawiyo, Tony Jones, Patsie design, Patricia Agbaku, Lady B, Franca Afegbowa, Rose of Sharon, Folorunsho Alakija and others, had to shoulder, but she emerged on the scene a little later, building a synergy between the earlier fashion designers and the newer generation, creating a bridge that eventually birth a Nigerian fashion industry, that today stands the test of time.
Like people say, you can't be a fashion designer without being beautiful inside-out like Funmi Ajila. And again, you can't be a successful fashion designer without being a Fashionista!
Funmi Ajila-Ladipo the fashion icon, perfectly blends a youthful beauty, style, grace and colours that her stitches perfects for her, that emerses her figure into being a model of models.
And so when Funmi Ajila steps out like she will be doing, to celebrate her 60th birthday in the city of Lagos, the centre of excellence today, she will be stepping out with all that it takes to be a perfect lady of class, fashion and glamorous style...
That's because for her, 60 is just but a number! Even her husband the advertising guru and icon, Mr Rufai Ladipo, still calls her 'Sweet Sixteen!'
Indeed, it has been a successful journey through stitches for Funmi Ajila. A journey, that deserves a Thanksgiving celebration at 60!
