Pope Benedict passes on at 95

Benedict, 95, died Dec. 31 in the Mater Ecclesiae Monastery in the Vatican. Benedict’s funeral is scheduled for Jan. 5 at 9:30 a.m. local time in St. Peter’s Square, with Pope Francis presiding. His body will be placed in St. Peter’s Basilica starting Jan. 2 so people can “pay their respects," the Vatican saidBenedict, 95, died Dec. 31 in the Mater Ecclesiae Monastery in the Vatican.
