At FADAN, Funmi Ajila-Ladipo Steps Down As President As Kolawole Kudus Steps in

A new team of leadership has emerged at the Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN) after an election which took place on Thursday at the Scotch Bonnet Restaurant in Lagos.

It was a keenly contested election which saw in attendance designers from across the country. At the end of it all, Mr. Kolawole Yussuf Kudus, CEO Kola kudus Creations emerged as the new President of FADAN.

Kola Kudus takes over from the outgoing President Mrs. Funmi Rufai-Ladipo who together with her team had managed the affairs of the association over the last six years.

According to the outgoing president FADAN has come of age and is ready to embrace global opportunities as the Association has positioned itself for growth and change in readiness to meet the demands of an ever developing industry.

"It has not been easy, but we have come to a point of no return, and FADAN has come to stay. Over the years, my team and I have worked hard to bring the association to the point where it is now.

We now have Chapters of the Association in states across the federation including Kaduna, Ondo, Rivers, Enugu, Delta and Ogun states. Other states that are coming up include Ekiti, Kano, and other parts of the Country. We have a Secretariat of our own, a bus, and a quarterly Magazine. We have also forged alliances and relationships with both government and relevant professional institutions that are key to our growth and development. So the structures necessary for sustainability are there. And that is what drives any organization."
