Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi, the Okanlomo Of Ibadan, Loses Father In Law


It is a season of mixed feelings for Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi, the Okanlomo of Ibadan. The Christmas season brought with it good tidings and also a time to celebrate a life that has been well spent!


Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi, a notable philanthropist, principled politician and distinguished ex Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, few days ago, lost his Father in law, the legendary icon, Alhaji (Chief) Daud Adekunle Abdul; Balogun of Ikare land; Baba Adini of Ondo state; Alatileyin Adini of Lagos to the cold hands of death.

 The ex Senator posted on his Facebook page that he is “deeply saddened by the demise of my Father in law, who was a legendary Icon.”

The Late Alhaji (Chief) Daud Adekunle Abdul passed away on the 21st of December, 2019 and was buried in his home town, Ikare Akoko, Ondo state according to Islamic rites on the 22nd of December, 2019.

Information filtering from the family, indicate that, details on further fidau prayer and reception, will be announced later.

May Allah bless and rest the soul of the deceased in peace.

Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi, was elected into the Federal House of Representatives in 1991 at the age of 29. He later became a Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Economic and Industrial Matters from 1999 to 2003 and then a Senator in 2015. He is married to Zhikrah A 'Folake Akanbi, the daughter of the deceased.
