Over
700 of Nigeria’s most promising entrepreneurs, start-up founders, business
persons and enterprises will converge in Lagos, on October 4, 2019 for the
first edition of Junior Achievement Nigeria’s youth leadership and
entrepreneurship conference and Awards. Hosted by Junior Achievement Nigeria, a
member of Junior Achievement Worldwide, the world’s oldest and largest
non-profit economic education organization dedicated to empowering students on
financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship through experiential,
hands-on programs, in partnership with JA-Nigeria Board Members such as
Dangote, FirstBank, CitiBank, StanbicIBTC, Deloitte, Schlumberger, Verraki
Partners, Sigma Pensions and Agile Communications, the flagship summit is
themed “Creating an agenda for the youth
and the future of Nigeria” and will stimulate discussions on leadership,
entrepreneurship and capability building, especially within the context of the
digital economy and corporate governance and sustainability.
Former Minister for
Industry, Trade and Investment, Okey Enelamah; Country Managing Director of
Siemens, Onyeche Tifase, Country Managing Director of Citibank, Akin Dawodu;
Head of Brand and Reputation Africa, Google,MojolaoluwaAderemi-Makinde and
Country Head, International Finance Corporation, Eme Essien Lorewill discuss
the event theme “Creating an agenda for
the youth and the future of Nigeria” during a panel session.
The conference will
also feature Masterclasses on Performance Management, Digital Entrepreneurship,
Financial Literacy and Branding for Entrepreneurs, while other activities

Over 25 outstanding
individuals and schools will also receive awards for their contribution to
youth empowerment and Junior Achievement Nigeria activities. Award categories
include Most Outstanding School, Volunteer, Teacher, Staff, and Venture in
Management Program (ViMP) class. Award nominees include Mo'Abudu,
SimdulShagaya, FolaweOmikunle, TayoOviosu, Otto Orondaam, EnaseOkonedo among
many others.
JAN was envisioned to
inspire and educate young people to become conscientious business leaders. JAN
achieves this by implementing economic education programs that develop
attitudes and skills necessary for personal success and social responsibility
and delivers practical, experiential hands-on programs under the three pillars
of financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship to young people
