Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has rejoiced with Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, as he celebrates his 85th birthday tomorrow July13.
In a statement released by Mr. Femi Adesina, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, President said he rejoices with the literary icon “for being one of the country’s greatest prides, and a universal brand.”
The statement also said that the President also joined family and friends of the cerebral academic in celebrating the many years of laudable achievements, recognitions, awards and consistency, a pride to Nigerians, Africans and the black race.
The President also commended Prof. Wole Soyinka for his interventions on state issues and polity through his articles and comments, his penchant for justice and persistence in holding leaders accountable.
President said he wishes the literary icon more years of good health, wisdom and service to the nation and humanity.
