Nigeria's top society lady and pioneer Super model Yemi Fawaz is dead. She died yesterday in New York City where she relocated to from Nigeria.
Her death was announced by her daughter on her Facebook page, where she also called for prayers for the family.
Yemi Fawaz held sway in the modelling and fashion industry where she groomed many of the latter day successful female models in Nigeria.
Upon relocation to the USA, she moved into hospitality industry and later also pursued a lifestyle guided by her religious faith.
Burial arrangement we hear will later be announced by the family.
The Nigerian fashion industry according to Mrs Funmi Ajila the Chairperson of the Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN) "is already in mournful mood as we recall the good memories of Deaconness Yemi Fawaz as she was known in her later days."
May her soul rest in peace to peace, Amen.
