By Rilwan Adesoji Adesoji Akanbi Campaign Organization (RAACO)

It was a joyous moment on Thursday, 27th December, 2018 at the constituency office of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Senatorial Candidate for Oyo South; Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi, in Inalende Ibadan, as his ever supportive and humanitarian  wife, Mrs Folake Akanbi extended friendliness of the festive season to women in her constituency.

Speaking at the event, she praised women as the stronghold of the family and the society at large and enjoined all ADC women to work deeply in cooperation with the party executives and members to mobilize and canvass for the overall success of the party at the forthcoming general elections in 2019. In her words, “We should give thanks to God who has been with us all year round and  saw us through the turbulence of the year 2018.

My sincere gratitude goes to all our women for the support given to my husband, Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi which has contributed to his laudable performance at the Red Chambers. As the general elections is gradually approaching, I seek the cooperation of all our women in mobilizing and canvassing women in the grassroots. Women are known to be trustworthy and firm in their support. In the remaining weeks, we need every support for outstanding victory in the elections.”

As the singing, dancing and merriment went on, she further reiterated her commitment towards ensuring continuous and unrivaled empowerment for women.

While distributing food items, materials and cash, she charged the women to share them adequately among women in their various Local Governments and Wards; as she says ‘there is great reward in sharing’.

She was ably supported by friends, the ADC State Woman leader, Mrs Funmi Arulogun and Senatorial woman leader, Alhaja Olabode. All the women leaders and executives from the different local governments and wards were also in attendance.

The event ended around 5pm with Mrs Akanbi extending her hands of love to widows and the vulnerable as she distributed food items and cash gifts to them.
