APC House of Representative aspirant in Ona-Ara & Egbeda Federal Constituency in Oyo state has accepted the verdict of the elders of the party, and accepted to toe the party line, to work with whoever the party decides on.
Speaking yesterday night to news men, Prince Ashimiu Adeyinka Afeez Adio said that, “I was initially furious when I was asked to step down for Hon. Oloye Akin Alabi, who the elders of the party consider to be the favourite to represent the constituence. But after careful thought, I knew and decided that our elders always knows best. I have therefore taken heed to the advice and decision of the party and hereby step down and at the same time pledge my support for the party’s chosen candidate.”
Prince Ashimiu Adeyinka Afeez Adio who is popularly known in the Constituency as 'Adio Vanguard' called on all his supporters to abide by the will of the party and to support the candidate that the party has chosen.
Prince Ashimiu Adeyinka Afeez Adio had offered to serve contesting for the same position with his opponents being Hon. Jenrade Kunle, Ishola Adewale. and Hon. Oloye Akin Alabi.
“So when Governor Ajimobi and APC of Oyo state told us to step down for Hon. Oloye Akin Alabi we must do so. I wish him best of luck and APC in Oyo state and Nigerian as whole, I thank Senator Abiola Ajimobi for a good job he has done for us.”
During the warming up campaigns for the primaries, Prince Ashimiu Afeez Adio warmed himself into the people's heart through community services rendered to the people such as scholarship to students, support for the elderly especially widows, empowerment of the youths and so on.
“There are still better days for all of us, and working and helping each other, will enable us all grow together,” he added.
