By UduakAbasi Ikpat

Governor Udom Emmanuel on Monday carefully avoided talking about the disastrous defeat of his party, People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ekiti State governorship election at his endorsement rally by PDP members in Ikot Ekpene senatorial district of Akwa Ibom State.

As chairman of PDP campaign committee for Ekiti State, Gov Udom Emmanuel led the PDP to a crushing defeat in the election which PDP won only 4 local governments compared to APC which won 12 local governments.

Gov Udom Emmanuel is alleged to have financed the Ekiti PDP in the election with the sum of 5 billion naira sourced as loan from Zenith Bank where he used to work.

There has been outcry in Akwa Ibom State about the waste of such money in an election everybody knew PDP will lose.

The Akwa Ibom State APC has already called on Udom to give account of such a huge waste of Akwa Ibom State resources in another state.

Gov Udom carefully avoided talking about the electoral disaster that was his first national election assignment for PDP.

Barr Emmanuel Enoidem, the PDP National Legal Adviser was the only person that spoke about the Ekiti disaster and he mocked Udom when he said, "Your Excellency, you were the chairman of the campaign council in Ekiti and you did marvelously very well. Your Excellency, it is on record that you won the election in Ekiti 2 days ago."
