FADAN TO TRAIN 100 YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS IN LAGOS AS THE FASHION BODY GETS READY FOR…

FADAN Fashion Week 2017

Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN) few days back declared that a total number of one hundred young people will be trained across an entire value chain of garment making as well as in bag and shoe making, millinery, bead making and fabric painting.


President of FADAN, Mrs Funmi Ajila-Ladipo, disclosed this at a press conference that had present, a rich collection of the big names in the fashion industry.

Mrs. Ladipo also added that “the two-day Master classes will be conducted by proven professionals and experts in the Nigerian fashion industry.” The target also according to her is to have the experts teach the one hundred youths “on how to do different things in garmenting that will put food on their tables”.

But this year’s FADAN Fashion Week celebration will not just be about the Master Class alone, the Da Viva sponsored show will have 25 designers from different part of West Africa, showcase expertise  and creativity on the runway.


Otunba Wasiu Taiwo who was also present at the press conference, called on the government not to ignore the fashion industry because people wear dresses every day. He encouraged FADAN not to relent on its call on the government to be responsible towards issues relating to FADAN. Meanwhile, Taiwo declared that the first production hub will come to be soonest, “with or without government support.”

FADAN WEEK 2017 will have as its theme, 'A Stitch in time.'
