Church women leaders forced my husband into temptation

Story by Ayo Buba

We sat at the table as she looked straight into my round eyes, "are you sure you want to listen to this?" I nodded. She heaved a heavy sigh and then began.

I tell women to always pray for their  husbands not to fall into temptation. That is the major advice I give to married women now. The truth is that, there are so many things out there to tempt a man into fornication and adultery. Even when a man is determined to stay away from it.

I had a blissful marriage with David my husband who I have always been used to calling Dave right from our universties days where we met in Ekpoma, Nigeria. Throughout our days in the university, Dave's parents were always in a big struggle to ensure that he completed the programme. They gave him lean resources because they didn't have much either.

While he studied Engineering, I studied pharmacy. We were about campus together. He loved me with a passion. I could read it in his eyes. Right from the first day we met at one of the cafeteria in campus, David spoke of a 100% love, one that came with openess and oneness.

As such it was a dream come true when soon after our graduation, Dave proposed to me. Ofcourse I readily agreed. We had love going for us, and though I had to encourage my parents to finance most part of the wedding, our  home and living pattern was already laid out after our wedding.

That is because, out of the blues, Dave who was a funky young man on campus, loving all the social life that took place there, found Christ while we were in our third year of studies. He became a proper Christian and later a full blown SU as we were being called then.

On my part, the real conversion came to me more slowly. Actually his christian conversion later led to mine. That was because I was always with him at most of the Christian meetings he attended on Campus. He studied the bible as if his lifc depended on it. And I was always there for him. Before we graduated, Dave was already a student  pastor in our campus chapel. After marriage, we went full blown into Christian ministry work. We were not particular about the comforts of life. From pastoring one branch of a church to another, we later set up our ministry after five years.

It was a big bang. From all round the city people came around! From one smaller location to a bigger space, we kept moving until we built a formidable ministry.

God blessed us with a boy and a girl as children. And all was well and blossoming until the thirteenth year of our going into full ministry. My husband remaind the handsome man he had always been. Totally focused on God and his family.

As much as we ignored it, over years, wealth began to be our portion. And unknown to us, so was jealousy and envy even within our church, within our ministry. I didn't know that within our church, for sometime, some women had actually had a crush on my husband at different times, as it was later revealed to me. They had individually made advances at him, and he had ignored them, refusing to take notice. But these women got together and set up a plan!

One of them brought in Obiageli to the church to start worshipping with us. Obiageli, an angel like looking girl. At nineteen, even women knew Obiageli's beauty remained exceptional. You could not help not liking her personality and character. It was Obiageli that these set of women who were also the leaders of     our women group in d church used to bring my husband down.

It did not take place in one day. It started gradually. They used her to run church errands around my husband and finally one day, like we later found out, she was instructed to go to him in a provocative, seductive dress for counseling on a day I was out ministering at another location.

I later saw what Obiageli wore that particular day, and I shook my head in grief. It was vulgar. But she was well instructed, as from parting of leg to opening of d leg and the pulling off of clothes that were only hanging loosely on her body, Obiageli perfectly seduced my husband into sex, adultery at a counseling session. My husband who had become a big evangelist, a role model preacher who had survived even worse situations was said to have made love to Obiageli, I was dumbfounded when I got the phone call and rush to the church premises.

Obiageli opened the door for the women to rush in according to the plan the women had hatched. The women were lurking around the supposedly empty church compound and when the act was completed, she gave the signal, opened the door, and they entered to behold the nakedness of Obiageli and my husband.

They didn't stop there, as soon as they saw the scenario, they raised the alarm, made so much noise around the church premises that attracted people. They had succssfully attacked my marriage to the root! I was completely devastated! I remember asking myself continually, "where do I go from here?" It was the worst moment of my life as dark clouds hovered over me.

(Watch out for the concluding part)

  1. Oh no. I don't like half baked stories. Life lesson to everyone. None is above temptation. Be careful of some church leaders, Judas amongst the twelve. Ok waiting for second part of story.
