Just when friends, society folks and the general public were just waking up to accept the news of her death, we learnt that famous Afro-juju dancer, Tessy Yembra has been buried in Lagos.
Tessy Yembra was buried same day she died, and that was done, to meet up with the curfew that is presently in effect in Lagos, where she resides.
We also learnt that, tears poured freely from neighbours who were around to witness it all.
Tessy Yembra was an influencer. She affected the whole neighborhood where she lived and her face and lifestyle was legendary.
She set the fashion pace, and she had the fashion tips, the style and the steps, at her finger-tips. So she was greatly admired.
Though it is not specified what illness she died of, but family source said Tessy was diabetic. But she managed it well and it was not noticed by people, due to her highly spirited, highly jovial nature.
Tuesday night, she took ill and her daughter noticed that it was never that bad. On Wednesday morning, she was rushed to the hospital. The daughter then tried reaching out to her friends especially when she got to the hospital and the hospitals we learnt were not accepting patients.
As if sent by an angel, famous boxer Bash Alli routinely called, and lent his support.
But Tessy had given up the ghost. Within her, she had waved goodbye to the world, her spiritual journey had already started. And then the tears poured freely because Tessy was a very nice person, with a kind hearted soul.
As at the time of filing this report, the neighborhood where she lived in Lagos, was still in tears.
