Tourism Icon, Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye bags Bubagunwa of Ise land title

... As HRM Alayeluwa Oba Ganiyu Adebowale Adegbesan marks 90th birthday and 25 years on the throne


The riverine community of Ise land in the Ibeju-Lekki local government area of Lagos, came alive with drumming, dancing and festivities, as it's traditional ruler, His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Ganiyu Adebowale Adegbesan celebrated his 90th birthday and the 25th anniversary of his ascension to the throne of his forebears.

Royal celebrations in African kingdoms especially one involving the traditional ruler, involves the entire community. The Oba's palace was draped in celebration, with the royals appearing in their resplendent best. The community members came out to celebrate their king and so did the visitors from far and near. 


Tourism Icon, Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye arrived in an entourage that held the entire occasion spell bound! With unique celebration that sent the drums into a frenzy, complimented with indigenous African songs in a  performance by Atunda Entertainment which announced a worthy personality to be received and honoured as he is welcomed into the royalty of ise land. 

The community celebrated his arrival, eliciting the joyful atmosphere, that enveloped the palace.

The ceremonial rites followed immediately. But the drums, the dance steps did not stop, as chants, eulogising the feats accompanied by the people embellished the songs, that accompanied the blast of trumpets.

The rites accomplished, the height of the event was the placing of ceremonial crown on head of Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye, a welll deserving recipient along with traditional prayers by His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Ganiyu Adebowale Adegbesan. 

The King, his Queen and his chiefs reached into the dance space for regal display of royalty and royal dance steps to celebrate with Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye on his historic day of fellowship and integration into Ise Land.

The ceremony over, the King was led into his palace by the chiefs and Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye, the newly crowned, Bubagunwa of Ise Land for further briefing, while the merriment continued outside the palace ground.
