GRATEFUL IDPs, COMMEND NCFRMI AS DISTRIBUTION TAKES PLACE AT OYO STATE

It was another historical moment for refugees, and internally displaced persons as The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons took distribution to Kisi in Oyo State on the 16th of April 2019.

On ground also were the IDPs who were discovered by Rev. Father Sylvester Odurinde last year, and these were mainly from Benue and Nassarrawa States.

Overwhelmed, these IDPs where immensely grateful to the Honourable Federal Commissioner, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faroqu and the Commission as a whole, because, the Commission was the first Federal Government Agency to intervene with such a large quantity of relief materials.

At Kisi in Oyo State, the Commission was represented by Mrs. Funmi Bara, a representative of the HFC, the South West Zonal Director Margaret Ngozi Ukegbu and other staff of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons.

The recipients expressed their gratitude to President Mohammadu Buhari and the Commission for remembering them and promised to use the material given to them very well.

The IDPs also thanked the Local Government Chairman, Honourable Adediran Sulieman and the people of Kisi for standing with them in their time of need.
