We seem to have a peculiar trend, the trend of justifying lack and extolling it as being virtuous.
I recently saw a post about a lady who reported to have said that any woman who cooks a pot of stew for over #500 is not virtuous.
Poverty mindset is one of the hindering factors shackling the people of our continent from thinking our lives out of poverty.
It is a poverty mindset that makes us think that we have to physically suffer to get a lesson and training in home and life management.
It is a poverty mindset that would make us believe that travelling by air is a waste of money( though its faster) than travelling by road which is much cheaper.
It is a poverty mindset that makes one believe that if you don't experience lack and want, you have no moral uprightness.
However, the same people who propagate the gospel of "poverty mindset " in the name of virtue will cross over into another continent and suddenly have a change of mind.
One may be in a phase of life where there is little and has to live to an exact, when prudence and strict effective management of resource is not an option.
However, justifying that lack is a virtue is hypocrisy in itself.
Life is in phases and men are in sizes, whatever your size and phase, be prudent with what you have while you work towards a better future.
In no way whatsoever should poverty or its mindset be justified.
POVERTY MINDSET IS LIMITING and anything that limits is not VIRTUOUS.
POVERTY IS NOT A VIRTUE.
